Please note that our day is very flexible, and if we find that an activity is going well, we may eliminate another portion of our day. Our day is designed to create a healthy and fun learning environment and not to put pressure or a time limit on any one activity. (There is plenty of time for that when the children are older.)

ARRIVAL TIME approx. first 15 minutes of our day.

FREE PLAY TIME approx. 30 minutes each day.   At free play time, each child is free to play in an area of his or her choice. They include housekeeping area, block area, puzzles, etc. This helps develop social skills, sharing, respect for others and the development of friendships.

ART PROJECT approx. 15 - 20 minutes each day
During this time, each child joins a small group of children to do their daily art project. This project is created around the letter of the week that the children have been learning. All art projects not only are a lot of fun to work on and look great, but they also help the children develop in the following areas: fine motor skills, academics, creative expression and confidence.

CLEAN-UP TIME
The children learn to pick up after themselves and gain pride and responsibility. They also learn to work together toward a common goal with their classmates.

CIRCLE TIME approx. 20 minutes each day
At this time of the day, we come together as a group to greet each other with our good morning song, salute the flag, and take turns with the weather chart and monthly calendar. We learn the day, month, and year as well as the daily weather conditions. Also at this time, we discuss the lesson of the day.

SNACK TIME approx. 15 minutes
Each day one student passes out the napkins. One child hands out the cups, and one student is responsible for passing out the daily snack. This portion of our day teaches responsibility and gives three students the opportunity to be the teacher's special helpers. We begin with our food poem and the children learn table manners including please and thank you and may I be excused. Children are always encouraged to eat at their own pace.

QUIET TIME approx. 15 minutes
During this portion of our day, each child is given the choice to read a book, do puzzles, pegs, or draw with chalk quietly, etc.

LARGE MOTOR ACTIVITY TIME approx. 15 minutes
At this time of the day, the children participate in the following: Dancing, marching band, parachute play, sing songs, etc.

STORY TIME approx. 10 minutes each day
The daily story is based on the letter of the week and the daily lesson.

OUTDOOR PLAY TIME approx. 20 minutes each day
Weather permitting, we will try and end our day outside, again developing our large motor skills.

PICK UP TIME last 15 minutes of each day
